Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights Los Angeles, Immigrant Rights Advocates to Endorse Alex Villanueva for Los Angeles County Sheriff
Los Angeles, Calif. – The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights and Latino Community Leaders to endorse Alex Villanueva for Los Angeles County Sheriff in an effort to reform, rebuild, and restore the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department. Villanueva will talk about his plan to remove ICE from Los Angeles County jail in order to stop using Los Angeles as a testing ground for the Trump administration and about his plan to build trust between the community and the LASD. Currently, Latino and immigrant communities are reporting crimes at progressively lower rates since Sheriff McDonnell took office.
